Bringing Agriculture Into The Classroom: Ready-To-Go Teaching Resources
• Completed by South West Local Learning and Employment Network (South West LLEN) in collaboration with South West TAFE, Timboon P12, Cobden Tech, Emmanuel College, Brauer College, Westvic Dairy, and Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority (GHCMA).
• A curriculum and resource development project to increase the visibility and knowledge of the importance of food and fibre (e.g., agriculture) to regional communities and economies.
• Curriculum is aligned to the Victorian Curriculum for Year 7 to 10 students - designed to be integrated into the existing mainstream curriculum – ready to go from July 2024.
• A suite of small projects and supporting resources that teachers can integrate into the existing curriculum:
• 9 ready to go modules: plans and resources for a 5-7 lesson block
• A Resource Library that can be loaned from South West LLEN to support delivery
• Ideas and opportunities to connect students with industry experts and local champions
Additional opportunities for careers exploration activities and off-site learning including visits to facilities such as South West TAFE’s Glenormiston Campus
